Moving Forward

The Route is planned the Gardens are Ready . The 1st Tour de Unity is ready to go . We hope this will grow into a yearly event to help raise money for Unity Gardens. Its even more important that we raise the funds needed to build a new Educational Center with a growing house in late 2011 . The center will be a place to hold educational events , a place for the community to come together , and a place to educate the public on growing , cooking , and eating healthy food . It will also serve as a place to start plants , a grow food year round. So come join us a this 1st Annual bike ride . Ride the 28 mile loop, and visit 10 unique vegetable gardens .

Tour de Unity

Tour de Unity is a family friendly bike tour of 10+ of the close to 50 Unity Gardens in the South Bend Area . It will give bikers a chance to visit several diverse gardens unique in there own way , yet sharing a common goal.
The ride starts at 9am  at 702 S. Chapin St., The Unity Gardens Office and enjoy coffee in the morning . Then head out on a tour of the Gardens . The Loop is about 28 miles . You will have some options to divert to garden not on the direct route . Each garden will have an SAG with refreshments . Please not that you must follow the Indiana Bike Laws , and follow best bike safety practices .
